Work Permit

Apply for work authorization to employ or work as a foreign national in T&T.

About obtaining Work Permit

The Work Permit Unit of the Ministry of National Security manages the application and approval process for work permits and extensions in Trinidad and Tobago.

This service is designed for non-nationals who wish to engage in gainful employment—whether paid or unpaid—within the country. All applications are processed under the Immigration Act, Chapter 18:01, and must follow clearly defined guidelines to ensure proper evaluation and legal compliance.

If your visit is for 30 days or less within a 12-month period, you do not need a work permit.
