About the General Assistance Grants 

The Ministry of Social Development and Family Services (MSDFS) offers General Assistance Grants to help vulnerable individuals, victims of disasters, and those in crisis situations. These grants assist with basic needs, medical expenses, rent, education, and other essential services to improve the well-being of individuals and families in distress.

How to Apply

Simple Steps to apply for General Assistance Grants 

For Adults

Step 1: Determine Eligibility

Review grant-specific requirements and gather necessary documents.

Step 2: Collect Required Documents including:

National ID & Birth Certificates 

Proof of income (pay slips, pension, or grants) 

Utility bills (electricity, water, phone, internet, cable) 

Medical reports (if applying for health-related grants) 

Estimates from suppliers (for household items, medical equipment, school supplies, etc.) 

Fire/Police Reports (for disaster-related grants)

Step 4: Application Review & Approval 

The Ministry will assess your application based on need and available funding.

Approved applicants will receive their grants through direct payment or supplier reimbursement.
