About the Senior Citizens’ Pension
Supporting Our Seniors with Financial Assistance. The Senior Citizens’ Pension is a government-funded grant designed to assist older persons in Trinidad & Tobago who meet age, residency, and income requirements. This initiative ensures that seniors receive consistent financial support to help with their daily living expenses.
Residency: Lived in Trinidad & Tobago for 20 consecutive years before applying (with absences not exceeding 5 years) OR Lived in Trinidad & Tobago for a total of 50 years (not necessarily consecutive)
Income Limit: Monthly income must not exceed $5,500 TTD
Pension Payment Structure
Maximum Monthly Pension: $3,500.00
Income-Based Support:
Income up to $2,500 →
Receives $3,500.00
Income between $2,500 – $3,500 →
Receives $2,500.00
Income between $3,500 – $4,500 →
Receives $1,500.00
Income between $4,500 – $5,500 →
Receives $500.00

Step 2: Attend Age Assessment (If Required)
Applicants may need to meet with the Local Public Assistance Board for verification.

Step 4: Application Review & Decision
The Assistance Board will assess your application.
