About the National Family Services Division 

The National Family Services Division (NFSD) is a unit within the Ministry of Social Development and Family Services (MSDFS) dedicated to enhancing family well-being. Since its establishment in 1991, NFSD has been at the forefront of advocating, educating, and providing direct intervention services to address: 

Family Conflicts & Marital Issues

Child & Spousal Abuse

Domestic Violence & Behavioral Challenges

Parenting Support & Education 

Mental Health & Crisis Intervention

Through public education, counselling, and partnerships, NFSD strives to empower families to overcome difficulties and build stronger relationships. 

How to Apply

Simple Steps to apply for Assistance 

Step 1: Identify Your Need

NFSD assists with a wide range of family-related challenges, including: 

Counselling (individual, group, and family)

Parenting Support & Workshops

Crisis Intervention & Emergency Response

Referrals to Other Government & Social Agencies

Step 2: Reach Out for Support

You can contact NFSD by:

Visiting a Local NFSD Office (see locations below)

Step 3: Schedule an Appointment 

Speak with a professional family support officer or counsellor who will assess your situation and provide appropriate guidance or intervention. 

Step 4: Participate in NFSD Programs & Services

Once connected, you may be referred to:
