e-Tax Instructions

Please be guided by the instructions below regarding access to the e-Tax service and other Government services facilitated by ttconnect.

Already have a ttconnect ID and registered for e-Tax service?

Clients who already have their ttconnect ID, can continue to conduct their e-Tax transactions:

For clients who do not have their ttconnect ID, please refer to the subsequent sections on acquiring your temporary ttconnect ID for the e-Tax service:

ttconnect ID account holders who have not yet applied for the e-Tax service, can do so at any of the ttconnect Service Centres, or via any of the email addresses, and the enrolment shall be completed within two (2) business days.

We would like to remind our senior citizens that the convenience of our automated Senior Citizens’ Pension and Direct Deposit application process remains available to you.

 

ttconnect continues to support the Ministry of Social Development and Family Services (MSDFS) in its delivery of the Life Certificate and Life & Residential Services (LCE/LRD). Further information on these services is available at our Toll Free 800-TTCN (8826), between Mondays and Fridays, 8am to 4pm except public holidays.

Information for TTBizLink Users

Accessing services with an existing ttconnect ID already enrolled for e-services

Clients who already have their ttconnect ID and registered for the e-Tax e-service, can continue to conduct their e-Tax transactions through the specific login:

 

e-Tax
This service is available for persons to file their tax returns. Details on this option to file tax returns are available at http://www.ird.gov.tt/etax/non-logged_in_returns/faqs. With your ttconnect ID, BIR Number and e-Tax Password, you can login to the eTax service via https://etax.ird.gov.tt and utilise the temporary e-Tax Temporary login. Please see below:

Step 1: access the e-Tax portal 

Users can access the e-Tax portal via the existing link https://etax.ird.gov.tt

Step 2: A banner is displayed at the top of page to alert users

Step 3: The user’s ttconnect ID, BIR Number and current e-Tax password are required for login.

Step 4: An authentication code is emailed to validate the user.

The pop-up window users will see after a valid ttconnect and BIR number are provided. By selecting the “Send Authentication Email” button, an email will be sent with an alphanumeric authentication code to the user’s email address.

Step 5: An “Authentication Code” field will be available to enter the code received, to complete the logon process.

Applying for a new temporary ttconnect ID to acquire e-Tax services

Don’t have your ttconnect ID and need to access e-Tax services?

Step 1: New clients desirous of acquiring a ttconnect ID, can do so by visiting any ttconnect Service Centre or applying via email at any of the email addresses with any two (2) of the following Identification Documents (Must be valid):

Birth Certificate

Driver’s Licence / Permit

National Identification Card

Passport

Step 2: Sign Disclaimer

You will be required to sign the last page of the ttconnect ID Disclaimer provided for you at the ttconnect Service Centre. For email applications please click here to download, print and sign the ttconnect ID Disclaimer.

Step 3: Submission of any one of the following documents for BIR number verification:

Advice of BIR or advice of BIR and Account Numbers

VAT Advisory

Tax Clearance

Statement of Tax Account

Notice of Assessment

Step 4: Submission of a valid email address and mobile contact number for registration purposes.

Step 5: The respective customers shall receive an email notification from the IRD with a temporary e-Tax password, advising of their temporary ttconnect ID number and instructions to login to e-Tax.

For email applications only – a selfie of the applicant holding one of their valid photo IDs is also required.

The eTax application will be complete within two (2) business days.

Applying for e-Tax services with your ttconnect ID

Already have your ttconnect ID and need to access e-Tax services?

Step 1: New clients desirous of acquiring a ttconnect ID, can do so by visiting any ttconnect Service Centre or applying via email at any of the email addresses with any two (2) of the following Identification Documents (Must be valid):

Birth Certificate

Driver’s Licence / Permit

National Identification Card

Passport

Step 2: Sign Disclaimer

You will be required to sign the last page of the ttconnect ID Disclaimer provided for you at the ttconnect Service Centre. For email applications please click here to download, print and sign the ttconnect ID Disclaimer.

Step 3: Submission of any one of the following documents for BIR number verification:

Advice of BIR or advice of BIR and Account Numbers

VAT Advisory

Tax Clearance

Statement of Tax Account

Notice of Assessment

Step 4: Submission of a mobile contact number for registration purposes.

Step 5: You will be required to provide your 13 digit ttconnect ID. (In the event you are unable to provide us with your ttconnect ID, a ttconnect ID would be provided).

Step 6: The respective customers shall receive an email notification from the IRD with a temporary e-Tax password, the ttconnect ID number and instructions to login to e-Tax.

For email applications only – a selfie of the applicant holding one of their valid photo IDs is also required.

The eTax application will be complete within two (2) business days.
