About the Passport Service 

The Immigration Division of the Ministry of National Security is responsible for the issuance, renewal, and replacement of Trinidad and Tobago passports. These passports are machine-readable and internationally recognized travel documents issued to citizens of Trinidad and Tobago—whether by birth, descent, registration, naturalisation, or adoption. 

 

With offices located across the country and a commitment to accessible, secure services, the Immigration Division ensures a smooth and transparent process for all applicants, including support for persons with disabilities.

Who Can Apply?

Any citizen of Trinidad and Tobago can apply for a passport. This includes citizens by:

Any citizen of Trinidad and Tobago can apply for a passport. This includes citizens by: 

  • Passports for persons 16 years and older: valid for 10 years 
  • Passports for persons under 16 years: valid for 5 years

Passports can be renewed at any time, even before they expire. 

Documents You’ll Need 

Your documents depend on the type of application: 

First-Time Applicants

Required documents vary by citizenship type (e.g., Birth, Descent, Adoption). You will need: 

  • Passport Application Form (download or collect) 
  • Identification documents 
  • Relevant certificates (birth, marriage, citizenship, etc.) 
  • TTPOST TrackPak 
  • English translations for non-English documents 
  • Originals and copies 

Renewals

  • Completed Passport Application Form 
  • Previous passport’s Bio Data page 
  • Any name change or citizenship documents (if applicable) 

All standard documents plus: 

  • Completed Notification Form 
  • Police report (for stolen or lost passports) 
  • Recent passport photo 
  • Fire or flood report (if applicable

Who Can Be a Recommender?

A qualified recommender must: 

  • Know the applicant personally for 3+ years 
  • Be a citizen of Trinidad and Tobago 
  • Fall within specific professional categories (e.g., MP, Teacher, Minister of Religion)

Relatives cannot act as recommenders. 

How to Apply for a Passport 

Step 1: Book Your Appointment 

Visit appointments.gov.tt to schedule. 
No fee is required to book an appointment.

Step 2: Download the Forms 

Get the Passport Application Form from the Immigration Division’s website. 
Must be printed double-sided on legal-size white copy paper (8½” x 14″). 

Step 3: Prepare Required Documents

Gather all originals and copies based on the type of passport service needed. 

Step 4: Attend Your Appointment 

Visit the designated Passport Office with your documents. 
Photos will be taken at your appointment.

Step 5: Pay the Applicable Fees

Fees must be paid on the day of your appointment, based on the service type.
