A Raffles/Bingos Permit is required by law for any person or organization intending to host raffles, bingos, or other games of chance in Trinidad and Tobago. These events are commonly used for charitable, religious, educational, or community fundraising purposes.
This permit ensures transparency and compliance with regulations and is issued by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS).
Eligibility
Individuals or registered organizations hosting games of chance for fundraising or non-commercial purposes.
Required Documents:
Completed permit application form
Valid form of identification
Event details (date, venue, purpose)
Authorization letter (if applying on behalf of an organization)
List of prizes (if applicable)
Cost
There is no standard public fee, but fees may be applied depending on the event scope. Contact TTPS for confirmation.
Processing Time
Typically 7–14 business days depending on the completeness of the application.
Permits must be obtained before the event takes place. Approval is at the discretion of the Commissioner of Police or delegated authority.
Step 1: Obtain the Application Form
Visit your nearest police station or the TTPS website to get the Raffles/Bingos Permit application form.
Step 2: Fill Out and Gather Documents
Complete the form and provide details of your event, your ID, and authorization if applying on behalf of a group.
Step 3: Submit the Application
Submit the documents at the relevant police division responsible for the event’s location.
Step 4: Wait for Processing
Your application will be reviewed and processed. Additional questions may be asked by the police if clarification is needed.
Step 5: Collect Your Permit
Once approved, you’ll be notified to collect your official permit for your event.
