About the Food Support Programme 

The Food Support Programme, managed by the Ministry of Social Development and Family Services, provides temporary food assistance to low-income individuals and families. By offering electronic cash transfers via a debit card, the programme helps recipients access nutritious food while promoting self-sufficiency and dignity. 

Who Qualifies? 

Families and individuals with limited or no income

Households struggling to meet daily nutritional needs

Applicants who pass a Means Test conducted by the Ministry

1-3 persons 

$510 per month 

4-5 persons 

$650 per month 

6+ persons 

$800 per month 

How to Apply

Simple Steps to apply for the Food Support Programme

For Adults

Step 1: Collect Required Documents 

Two (2) passport-sized photos 

National ID & Birth Certificates for all household members 

Utility bills (electricity, water, internet, phone, cable)

Income & expenditure documents (pay slips, job letters, NIS number, grant receipts, savings statements, rental/mortgage receipts) 

Step 2: Attend an Interview

Meet with an Officer for eligibility assessment.

Step 3: Home Verification Visit

An Officer will visit your home to confirm household details. 

Step 4: Receive Your Food Support Card

If approved, a preloaded debit card will be issued

 

Important: The Ministry reserves the right to remove clients who no longer meet the eligibility criteria.
