The Occupational Safety and Health Authority


The Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Authority was established in October 2006 on the basis of the Occupational Safety and Health Act, 2004 as amended. It is a multi-stakeholder advisory body to the Ministry of Labour and Small Enterprise Development.  

The core tasks of the OSH Authority are:

  • To encourage the enforcement of the OSH Act
  • To promote training and research
  • To provide information 
  • To develop regulations and Approved Codes of Practice according to the OSH Act

The Occupational Safety and Health Agency which comprises of Inspectorate and other departments, has been unwavering in its commitment to better facilitate the development of mechanisms for safe and healthy workplaces throughout Trinidad and Tobago.

As the Agency continues its steadfastness in encapsulating the safety and health needs of the public, we have made attempts to facilitate the provision of information in a way that is user friendly and accessible to all.
