Agricultural Incentives


The Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries provides incentive programmes for individuals and businesses involved in the agricultural sector.  Incentive claims can be made for the following: 

  • Vehicles.
  • Machinery and equipment (includes beekeeping).
  • Water (wells, dams, ponds).
  • Soil conservation.
  • Land preparation.
  • Citrus fields.
  • Cocoa and coffee fields.
  • Coconut fields.
  • Livestock (beef, diary, goat and sheep).
  • Guaranteed prices.

What documents do I need?

Applicants are required to present the following:

  • Farmer Identification Card.
  • One valid form of identification (e.g. electoral card, passport, driver's permit, Naturalisation Certificate).
  • An original receipt for each of the items purchased.
  • Proof of interest in land (such as a deed, lease or rental agreement, recent land tax receipt).

When will the claim be processed?

Once the application is received, a site visit will be conducted by an agricultural county officer and the equipment or completed work is inspected.  A recommendation is submitted and upon approval of this recommendation, payment is disbursed.  Payments must be collected in person from the agricultural county office where you are registered.
