ttconnect FAQs

Q: What is ttconnect?
A: ttconnect is a new and alternative way of accessing Government information via the Internet. It is part of a broader programme to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of Government service delivery.
Q: How does ttconnect benefit the people of Trinidad & Tobago?
A: A user-centric approach was employed in designing ttconnect.. This means that information is arranged with your needs in mind.
ttconnect strives to fulfil the needs of all its users. At present it focuses broadly on three (3) categories of users-
  • Citizens
  • Businesses
  • Visitors and Non-Nationals
ttconnect is a one-stop, non-stop site for accessing "all of Government" from a single location. The current version provides you with a convenient way to access Government information online, and will evolve to include key Government services online.
Q: Why is some Government information missing on ttconnect?
A: This is a "preview" version of ttconnect, allowing citizens an opportunity to provide feedback before it is formally launched within the next few months.
Additional information and new services will be progressively added. This will be guided, in the main by the feedback that you provide.
Q: When will I be able to access Government services online, using ttconnect?
A: fastforward, our National Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Strategy, calls for Government services online by 2008. Your ongoing feedback will assist us in determining which services are most relevant to you.
As Government ministries make their services accessible online, ttconnect will progressively add them to the site so you can access all services from a single, convenient location. Services currently available online (e.g. Applying for Government Housing) are already accessible via ttconnect.
Q: Will ttconnect replace Ministry websites?
A: No, ttconnect will not replace Ministry websites. Ministries will continue developing their individual websites, and you will be able to access links to existing Ministry websites through ttconnect, where appropriate.
Ministry websites typically present information from an agency-centric perspective. In contrast, ttconnect is designed around the specific needs of its users (citizens, businesses, visitors and non-nationals). Now, you can access Government information without first needing to know the specific Ministry responsible.
