What happens after I apply?
Your application will be reviewed to determine if you meet the MuST entry requirements. Your application will also be screened to identify your current skill set and to determine what training you would need to be eligible for available jobs. If you are accepted into the Programme, a member of Ministry of Tertiary Education and Skills Training's staff will contact you by phone and in writing within two weeks of receipt of your application. You will then be placed in training for a period of six months and paid an hourly stipend of no less than minimum wage.
Trainees will be integrated with either crews on a worksite or staff at hospitality and tourism establishments for four days per week to receive training that is hands-on and work based. One day per week will be spent off-site where Trainees will be exposed to training aimed at increasing literacy and numeracy skills and future employability.
Based on the work performance of each trainee and the existence of vacancies within the employer's organisation, he or she may be offered a position on a more permanent basis. The MuST Programme will assist all those who successfully complete training to identify permanent job opportunities.
