GATE e-Service

GATE eService

ttconnect now offers access to the Government Assistance for Tuition Expenses (GATE) eService.  An initiative of the Ministry of Tertiary Education and Skills Training (MTEST), the GATE eService is intended to automate the processes of student applications, Tertiary Level Institution (TLI) verification and Clearance approval of GATE applications.

The GATE eService introduces an end-to-end workflow that will enable the Funding and Grants Administration Division to administer the GATE programme more efficiently.

Utilizing the GATE eService is quite simple:

Step 1: Register for a GATE eService ID at an Approved Registration centre with the following:

  • A valid email address
  • Electronic Birth Certificate (and affidavit)
  • Passport or National Identification Card
  • Name change proof (Deed poll, Marriage Certificate, etc…)

Step 2: Apply for GATE Funding via the eService (The GATE application will take approximately 10-15  minutes to complete) Click here to go to the registration page!

Step 3: View application status online OR Receive status updates via email

Step 4: Amend / Re-submit application (only if required)

Step 5: Sign Letter of undertaking (upon approval)

 The eService aims to address issues such as:
     •  Reducing GATE Clearance and Application processing time;
     •  Improving the service quality by increasing automation;
     •  Improving the effectiveness of routine checks; and
     •  Reducing redundant processes.

 At the Governmental Level, the GATE eService involves significant collaboration between a range of Tertiary Level Institutions and the Ministry of Tertiary Education and Skills Training.  ttconnect is pleased to be a facilitator of registration of this service through its five channels of delivery, namely: ttconnect Online; ttconnect Mobile; ttconnect Self-Serve Kiosks; ttconnect Express and six ttconnect Service Centres.
