GovPayTT : From In line to Online
Quick Facts:
- GovPayTT, an initiative created by iGovTT, is an electronic payment platform and citizen-centric solution that facilitates electronic payments for various transactions to be conducted at Government Ministries, Divisions and Agencies (MDAs).
- The first implementation of this service has been at the Registrar General’s Department (RGD) and Intellectual Property Office (IPO) under the Office of the Attorney General and Ministry of Legal Affairs.
- Via GovPayTT, persons can conduct online transactions for Birth, Death, Marriage and Adoption Certificates, with the Registrar Generals’ Department, and persons can also conduct online Trademark Services with the Intellectual Property Office.
GovPayTT also allows for the payment of Request for Proposals (RFPs) on the iGovTT site, without having to physically go the bank to enact payment. The system is also scalable, in that it can be adopted as an online payment system by other Government MDAs for RFPs as well. This can therefore increase convenience and ease of doing business with Government in general.
The Government’s Vision 2030 Plan, seeks to promote good governance and service excellence by transforming the public sector through the delivery of high quality, modern and customer-focused services. This is supported by iGovTT’s 2020-2023 Strategic Plan.
