How do I apply?

Requests for artificial insemination are to be submitted by telephone to the nearest agricultural county office or the Artificial Breeding Centre at (868) 667-9291.  Please follow the link below for county office contact information.  For Tobago, you should contact the Artificial Insemination Unit at Hope Farm at (868) 635-0260 or (868) 660-2008.

The animal must be in heat and be served within 24 hours for insemination to be successful.  Service is provided on week days, weekends and public holidays. The livestock semen is either frozen or fresh depending on the type of animal. The services are performed for cattle, water buffalo, sheep, goats and pigs. There is a limited rabbit artificial insemination service, which is performed on special request. There are no application forms to be completed for this service. Once the service is provided, the farmer is issued a receipt containing the animal's identification and the date and sire used for insemination.
