The Sport and Culture Fund
The Sport and Culture Fund facilitates the provision of sporting and cultural activities in Trinidad and Tobago by providing grants and loans to deserving individuals, groups and organisations. The objective of the Fund is to nurture and develop human and technical resource capabilities in sport and culture while encouraging self-reliance of groups, associations and individuals undertaking related activities.
Assistance will be given to ventures that are deemed by the Sport and Culture Board of Management to be of benefit to the community or the nation as a whole. An organization, group or individual that receives funding from the Board will be required to wait for a period of 24 months before seeking further assistance from the Fund.
Funding can be provided for the following activities:
- The provision or upgrading of sporting and cultural facilities.
- Competitions and tournaments, productions and exhibitions, festivals, physical training and coaching, meetings, workshops, seminars and conferences.
- Research and publications.
- Advanced studies in the field of sport and culture.

Who is eligible to receive financial assistance from the Fund?
Organizations, groups or individuals engaged in activities that promote and encourage excellence in sport and culture can apply to the Fund for partial funding of those activities. There are specific eligibility requirements depending on whether the entity requesting funding is an organization, a group or an individual.
An organization or a group applying for assistance must:
- Be properly constituted with rules and regulations established.
- Have been in operation for at least two years as shown by its own records.
An individual applying for assistance for himself or herself must:
- Be a citizen of the
Republic Trinidad and Tobago - Be proficient in the particular discipline for which funding is being requested (level of proficiency required will be determined by the Board).
- Provide evidence of efforts to raise funds including donations, sponsorship, appearance fees and gate fees.
How do I apply for assistance from the Fund?
Applications should be made through the national organization or association that governs or promotes the particular event, project or programme for which assistance is being sought, where one exists.
If such an organisation does not exist, completed application forms and supporting documentation can be returned to:

Any organization, group or individual wishing to apply for assistance from the Sport and Culture Fund should submit a complete application package, which includes:
- The appropriate "Sport and Culture Fund Application for Assistance" form:
Form A - for organizations and groups
Form B - for individuals

What is the deadline for submitting application forms and supporting documentation?
Applications must be submitted at least three months prior to the start date of the event, project or programme for which assistance is being requested.
When will I know if I will be receiving assistance from the Fund?
Once a completed application form and all required supporting documentation have been submitted, applicants will be notified of the Board's decision to provide financial assistance within three months.
