The National Registry of Artists and Cultural Workers


The National Registry of Artists and Cultural Workers is a programme of the Ministry of the Arts and Multiculturalism that registers Artists, Cultural Workers, and Cultural Organisations and Groups and certifies audio, visual, and video productions. This service is available to all stakeholders in the Culture Sector.




Who is eligible for this service?

Nationals and registered organisations of Trinidad and Tobago, those are active in the Culture Sector.

How do I apply for this service?

To apply to the Artist Registry as an Individual or an Organization, please click the link below. Applicants are advised to carefully read through the guidelines on the website and to note the importance of supporting evidence. You will need to use an active email account as your User Name. This email account will be used to contact you when necessary.

What documents do I need to provide?

For individuals:

  • Proof of citizenship: One formof valid picture ID alongside Birth Certificate or valid Passport
  • A letter of recommendation for each or all selected fields of endeavour from: A reputable group or umbrella body / state agency or institution with a history or mandate to work in the culture sector / educator with advanced standing, degree or equivalent experience / an established artist in the culture sector.
  • A portfolio of work as evidence: five (5) samples for each selected field of endeavour; visual artists, photographers and designers are required to submit fifteen (15) samples for each field of endeavour
  • A profile of no more than 300 words reflecting your work in the culture sector
  • A headshot of yourself: 4x6 inches

For organisations:

  • Copies of the organisation’s articles of association or incorporation / constitution or by-laws
  • Copies of minutes of two recent meetings, one of which records the establishment of the current executive of the organisation
  • Resumes of the executive of the organisation, or at least three (3) which includes the Founder / President / Chief Executive Officer (Profiles and Biographies are not accepted)
  • Profile of the organisation (Outlining the organisation’s purpose, functions and structure)
  • Portfolio of work as evidence: five (5) samples for each selected field of endeavour; visual artists, photographers and designers are required to submit fifteen (15) samples for each field of endeavour
  • A photo representative of the organisation / its logo: 4x6 inches


For certification of audio, video and visual works:

  • Proof of citizenship: One form of valid picture ID alongside Birth Certificate or valid Passport (For Individuals) or Copies of the organisation’s articles of association or incorporation / constitution or by-laws (For Organisations)
  • Synopsis documentation for each work listed (A summary of the script)
  • A Full Script / Lyrics / Treatment for each work listed (The entire text for the work)
  • Distribution Plan for each work listed (An outline of channels and strategy for distributing the work to the general public
  • A profile of no more than 300 words reflecting your work in the culture sector (For Individuals) or Profile of the organisation (Outlining the organisation’s purpose, functions and structure) (For Organisations)
  • A headshot of yourself (For Individuals) or A photo representative of the organisation / its logo (For Organisations): 4x6 inches
