Tertiary-Level Distance Education Courses

Distance education (DE) involves learning away from the classroom, without the teacher and student having to be in the same place at the same time.  Historically, DE has used regular mail to send written material, videos or audiotapes to the student.  Other media have become more commonly used in distance education in the recent past, including television, radio, e-mail, the Internet and video conferencing.

DE programmes are offered by a wide range of tertiary, or post-secondary, institutions in Trinidad and Tobago and overseas.  The Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago (ACTT) is responsible for accrediting tertiary level institutions (TLIs) and implementing standards and mechanisms to assure the quality of TLIs and the programmes they offer.

How do I register for DE courses?

Each Tertiary Level Institution (TLI) has its own registration process, eligibility requirements and fees.  Please contact the TLI offering the course for which you want to register to find out about their specific registration process.  Please follow the link below for a list of the accredited TLIs in Trinidad and Tobago that offer distance education courses.
